Blooming Beautiful

Gidday!

Today I’m sharing my second March Guest Designer card for Newton’s Nook Designs. I made this card using one of the beautiful images from the Newton’s Nook Designs Loads of Blooms stamp set.

I really wanted the girl image with the big bunch of blooms to stand out, so I coloured her with Copic markers, then created the background shop front building using grey tones. I think the grey background really makes the image pop from the card, what do you reckon?

Firstly, I lightly drew the background shop front image around my coloured bloom girl by using a lead pencil, just to get the angles right. Once I was happy, I went over the top with a C1 Copic marker and erased my lines. I created shades and shadows with the N2 and C2 Copic markers. I spent quite a few hours on it and finally I just had to be happy and say I’m done! I’m not a colour expert, it’s not perfect, but we’re all learning and must be content not to compare ourselves to the experts! Just have fun and that’s certainly what I had!!

It’s such a gorgeous set of stamps and a must have set!

Thanks for looking, I hope I have inspired you in some way.
Happy stamping, Miss Jane
