Use it Monday – 6×6 paper pads

I love Mondays now, it means I get to choose a product of mine that has been sitting in my stash neglected or I’ve been keeping for that “Special” card.

Today I’ve decided to grab my jammed pack container of beautiful 6×6 patterned paper pads, to be honest I haven’t even opened this comtainer for probably six years! I used to use them on every card I made, well just about.

What perfect way to use these beautiful condensed patterned paper than to stamp on them and fussy cut them out. I have used Darkroom Door Celebrations and Birthday Greetings stamp sets to create this card.

I really don’t think my collection is that big, I know some friends who have twice as much!

I also used some vintage sequins which I’ve had for about ten years, seriously….am I the only one who stores stuff?? Surely not! I bought them at a market, she has so many beautiful vintage fabrics, laces, sequins etc.

The sequins are so beautiful in colour and so small, they were perfect for this card.

Well off you go, get out those 6×6 paper pads and start using them!

Happy creating, Miss Jane xx

Technique Tuesday Blooming Branches

Hi there,

Lucky you popped on here!! Technique Tuesday are having birthday celebrations, they’re having a sale, 20% off all stamps!! What fantastic savings!!

I’m sharing a card I made using Technique Tuesday beautiful Blooming Branches stamp set, it’s so pretty and the matching dies have the word “hello “included, I just love it!

Hello & Happy Birthday!

Sometimes just a colourful branch of blossoms is all you need on a fresh white card, although I did die-cut the bottom section using the matching die then added sparkly white paper behind it, such a very simple way to frame the flowers, don’t you think? I coloured the beautiful stamped image using Copic markers with not much blending, I just kept it simple.

I added a torn strip of peach Washi tape to the bottom, just to add some more colour. To finish I glued a few sparkly sequins for more pazazz!

Tips:

  • Use the matching die to frame your image, just offset it a little and back the die-cut section with glitter or even a contrasting colour.
  • A simple coloured spray of blossoms on white card is such a great clean classic look.
  • A torn strip of Washi tape that matches your image is a great way to add more colour to your card.
  • Stamp and die-cut your image from the bottom section of white card, this can then be used as your card front panel.

Okay, off you go, check out Technique Tuesday! There are soooo many beautiful designs.

Bye for now, I’m off to shop!!

Happy stamping!

Miss Jane

Cosmos Flowers

Gidday!

You know when you have an idea of a card stuck in your head!! Well, I’ve had this idea for over a year I reckon, I was just waiting for the right stamp! Technique Tuesday Kind Cosmos mini stamp set was perfect, what beautiful delicate flowers.

I stamped the image on the right-hand side of smooth white card using a light grey ink pad. I coloured the Kind Cosmos flowers using PrismaColor pencils and drew roots at the bottom of the flower stems with brown pencils. To create the Botanical theme, I inked small sections of the flowers and stamped them down the left-hand side of the piece with a light grey ink. I added the name of the species and labelled the sections. It was so much fun and such a big relief to get the idea out of my head! BUT, now I want to do more!!

I sponged Distress Ink old paper around the edges and added Tim Holtz measurement Washi tape to a few areas. Layered it all on Core’dinations dark grey card and sanded the edges to keep with the vintage feel.

Funny little story: I finished styling the card and picked up my phone to edit the pictures, for this I now need glasses. Well, I couldn’t find my glasses anywhere, I was getting very frustrated as I knew I only just had them!! Ummm I used them for the style shot, LOL. Oh dear, it was coffee time to be fair!

Hope you like the card, leave me some love or go and purchase the stamps set! Anyway, thanks for stopping by.

Now go and create!
